Absolutely, it is the same deal with the emphasis on positive thinking. Sure it beats negative thinking but it still doesn't grant you the freedom that perceiving beyond positive and negative allows.

It almost seems like the LoA teaches people to choose to be happy which is great considering people take responsibility for creating their reality instead of feeling like a victim so it's at a higher level than before. Nevertheless, choosing to feel pleasure is still just part of the ego game, isn't it?

True Divine Bliss has no opposite and arises from beyond the mind altogether. A perfect quote about this point by Wei Wu Wei:

"On the phenomenal plane we seek pleasure and the avoidance of pain. On the noumenal plane we know the absence of both - which is bliss."
